Life begins ...
Two years short of Towel Day?
I got nothin'.
Congrats :)
Congratulations on having survived 40 years! And just think - if you live another 40 years, you can achieve even more than you already have, because you don't have to start at the begining - you already know what you know!
Trouble is, I'm more aware of what I _don't_ know...
That is the beginning of wisdom.
So they say. (And your icon makes me wonder about the angst associated with being centuries old...)
Better than not being centuries old, though.
I was going to wish you happy birthday tomorrow, but I guess I'd better not, now...
Well, you did say "commiserate" -- I thought that meant you hated the whole idea...
Following right behind you (well, in 11 months), so you're not alone! I hope you'll have a good day - I'm sending lots of good thoughts your way.
Thank you! Now you have 11 months to plan a _really_ good celebration.

Been there done that, I thought turning 40 would be really bad but I survived. I turned 40 last year, well yeah bah humbug have a really good day tomorrow anyway
Thank you - though I'm a bit worried about the icon. Is it something about hitting 40 (& 40 hitting back)? ;-)

No not really, my husband seems to think its my warped sense of humour. I just really liked it, I am hanging out now waiting to turn 42 i think i would like to have a party for that one.........just have to wait and see HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY x0x0x
Thanks -- & yeah, you should do something big for 42. And we should catch up, since I'm only down Geelong way now!
You'll have to settle for congratulations, I'm afraid.
So you doin' anything for your birthday??
If not we should :)
Lunch with some of my workmates (the ones who aren't on leave or off conferencing), then dinner with my folks. Why, what were you thinking? ;-)
So Bebo, lj and Miranda's has been telling me.
Gosh, you're so old *g*
And you're so cheeky, young 'un! Good luck with the job hunting, btw!
I know - it's part of my charm!
Thanks - it's a new job or gaol when I massacre my colleagues here!
Happy birthday!!
Has it really been 10 years since that room party at a con? Where we had 20 people packed in, and called down to room service for more glasses?
Remember how the waitress who brought them up gave us all a weird *look*, and you explained it was your 30th? The waitress said "you know, women reach their sexual peak at 30", and Steve C grinned, and said "that's why we're here!"
Happy birthday, my fellow Cancerian psych! :-) :-) :-)
Blimey, time passes too quickly! But thanks. And it's your birthday too, I remember...
*grins*
It is, yes.
Here's to the next 10 years!
I'd toast you, if I had anything other than toast to do it with!
Toasting me with toast would be awesome!
:-)
You know, tonight would be as good a night as any to phone me for that long-awaited chat...
;-)
40 is the new 30, apparently. Which means I must be only 20... Everyone's having the big birthdays in the same year, it's quite odd. Have a good 'un, anyhow!
It _is_ odd. I can understand lots of people being born in 1967 (all that summer-of-lovin) but 1977? Did Star Wars make everyone _that_ horny?
Well, mine was in May, so it would've been 1976 - perhaps there was just nothing good on the telly ;-).
And you think you've got problems...
Better not tell you my age...
Have a great birthday! (Once you're past the milestone, it doesn't look nearly as bit)
Yeah, I've been debating whether or not to tell her my age, too. 8-P
Happy Birthday. Congratulations and commiserations, take your pick. I will say that the year I turned 40 turned out to be one of the best years of my life, and I hope for the same for you.
Worry not about 40 hitting back--just flatten it with the first swipe and there's no retribution. Odd--I found 30 much more daunting (and subsequently more fun!) than I did 40. From what I saw above, your 30th was _memorable_.
One of my favorite quotes is that the best indicator of how well you lived it up, is how long it takes you to live it down. By that criterion, I hope tomorrow is infamous!
*Wide evil grin*
Aaaaargh! B******** your card is sitting on the floor in front of me!!!!
Have fun!!!!
wow! congratulations - happy birthday!
Have a great one. From someone who has been there and done that.
As I have said many times. The alternative to not having so many birthdays is not that nice. Enjoy them.....
Thanks, everyone - hoping this year is a good one - I'm trying to change things for the better, but it's taking a long time... will explain in a post shortly.
Commiserations if you really want them. I would think that congratulations are more in order on achieving the venerable symbolic age of 40. It's no mean feat.
Congratulations on your 40th. Don't worry it's when you turn 100 that you start to worry about being old. ;p
Hope you have a great time with your folks. |
